I have the 7mm-08 in a tikka. Very lightweight set up I use on public land. I'll go walk anywhere from 2-4+ miles in a day. I actually went out Saturday and managed to shoot 4 hogs with 3 shots. All head shots dropped in their tracks. I shot one and it went through and got a 2nd on behind him.

I've got a 700 CDL that I've sent to the gunsmith for some work. Mine wears a VX3 4.5-14X40 as well. It just doesn't shoot quite like I think it should. 1.5" groups with any ammunition I try, including handloads, although I do have one promising load. Gunsmith is going to pillar and do a full bed job and we'll see what happens.
