    String Silencers

If I'm shooting a 500+ grain arrow do I need them?
They're string weight and slows the bow down.
    Is there a magical number?

No one "Needs Them" but they are there to help quite down the vibrations of the string and absorb some of the hand shock if that's what you're looking to do.

My bow has a limb problem. After the season in going to warranty it.
It currently has string silencers on it. The kind the the string gets thread through.
I'm thinking of having replacing the string a cables at the same time.
If I don't have the silencers put back on how many FPS will I gain?

          Very little.
Maybe 6-12 FPS is my guess.

It will help your speed by maybe 3-5fps by taking them off.

Push if you decide to put them back on look at the Ray Knight TPU speed nocks. Of all the types I've shot those are my favorite. They are durable, deaden string oscillation, won't slip and have a shorter profile like brass speed nocks for a little extra ump.

What do you mean by a limb problem?

I tried them. But a bag of 25 last year. Mine split. I think I've tried six maybe all the same

Shooting that heavy of an arrow, you won't be able to tell a difference in speed or noise, with or without them.

He redesigned them, you weren't the only person with that problem.
