    West Texas pic

Been hunting Central Texas for 20 year's and experienced our worst drought 3 years ago and lost half our heard. Always tried to let deer age before taking them and supplement feed with bulk protein. Got ten bow hunters that final seen what a good year looks like. Don't know if it was mother nature or feeding and age,but this was your 2013 season. With several up and comers for 2014 season.

Are you in Central Tx or West Tx? What parts of the country?

Give some specifics of size of property and what yall have been doing as far as feed and your management strategies? Looks like you are doing some good. Great season for sure!

San Angelo ,5500 acres low fence, trying to get bucks to 5 1/2 before shooting, take culls & management bucks 2 1/2-3 1/2, landowner on water consumption program had cedar and misquote trees pulled seven years ago,and four three thousand pound protein station we feel twice( once in Jan and once in May). Our deer number was cut in half after drought three summer's ago. Went from seeing 15to20 a sitting too 5to10.

I hope we never see a drought like we had in 2011 again!!!! Praying we get a flood from here on out.

Good deal, some good looking deer. Sometimes Mother Nature knows what she is doing. She reduced the competition for feed.

There's some good deer out that way for sure. Had a lease for several years 18 miles SE of town around Susan's Peak, off of Marathon Oil Rd that I would love to be able to get back on. Took several nice deer over the years out there.

Looks like you guys are doing things right!
