Depending on how late in the campaign he said something like that, he could be primaried out with a stance like that unless he said it after it's too late to get someone else on the ticket.

Pretty much already too late. Several places have closed the republican primary.

Arizona, Kansas, Nevada and South Carolina will not be holding Republican presidential primaries and caucuses

I voted for Trump and will likely do so again in 2020 because...socialism is the other option.

I'd like to add that Trump has done more damage than any 10 liberals.
Bumpstock ban - executive action, made thousands instant felons with a pen stroke.
Silencers - talk or not, he was quoted as saying he'd consider banning them.

As a 2A supporter, this stuff makes me more than a little nervous for the future.
Trump is THE MAN when it comes to the art of the deal, but stop using the 2nd Amendment as a leveraging tool.

Greatest fear: "Fine....you give me immigration reform and you can ban whatever gun you want. Quid pro quo."
