Well, I got laid off my first day back to work in 2014. I spent 4.5 years in the field and 4.5 more working in technology located in Carrollton Texas.

I have a BBA in Finance but have spent the last 9 years in the oil and gas industry. I am married with two daughters ages 3 and 2 so I would rather stay in the metroplex if at all possible, maybe use me degree. I live in Denton. If I have to go back to the field and travel I will surely do so but I am hoping I can find something local that will allow me to have a so called "normal" life. Sorry to hear that man. In that area I would amagine it wouldn't be to hard to find something in finance or oil and gas. The good thing about finance is EVERY single company and corporation that exisits has a need for positions that something to do with it in some way. I know a few guys that are finance guys at car dealerships they may work a lot of hours at times but they sure arent hurting for anything.

It's never a good time for a layoff, sorry to hear about this, keep your sprites up and hit the ground running. Make it your new job to find a job. Read up on interviewing! Tax season is coming? Did you say finance might be some short term gigs available for taxes.
