    Trailer lights question

I have a 5x7 utility trailer and my turn signals and brake lights work fine however I don't have my running lights. I think this is all one bulb but not positive. Would this be a wiring issue or bulb issue?

If neither of the running lights are working, it's probably a wire/connection. A test light will find your problem in quick order.

Neither are working, but brakes and flashers work on both sides.

look for the brown wire connection all the way from the tow vehicle to the back of the trailer

four wire flat wire color standard:

          brown - tail
          green - right
          yellow - left
          white - ground

          Hope this helps.

Have you pulled this trailer in the past?
If no check to make sure the plugs are wired the same.

            If yes here's my .02ยข
I think it could be 1 of 2 things.
            1) Bad fuse on the car
Test: with a test light check for power on the appropriate connection point on the receptacle at the rest of the vehicle.

If you have power at the receptacle the fuse is good.
If you don't have power, locate the fuse box on the car and check there for a bad fuse.
Some vehicles have a fuse box under the hood.

            If you have power.

Remove light cover and remove bulb.
Check for power with test light. If you have power, replace bulb(s)
If you have no power you could have a bad cconnection.
Start to follow wires towards the front of the trailer. If there's a splice or butt connector, check there for power.
If there's power you have a break in the wire between that point and the light.
If you don't have power keep moving forward till you find power.

Here's a website that I use. It had the different plugs and wiring diagrams.

            Hope this helps.

gut and start over. A trailer that size can be re-wired in an hour vs. trouble shooting for half a day

As stated above, check the fuse box on your vehicle. Like I had asked...they do make dual filament bulbs, one filament could be out. Visually try those first, if no power then, get a test light and start poking around to figure out where u have power and where you do not have power.

That was actually what i was looking at doing. 29.95 trailer light package. Bought this used and it is a homemade trailer. Looks like he ran some sort of electrical conduit pole to the rear. Would running the wire along frame and taping it up work? The pole has come loose and kind of dangles.
