I had pack rats build a nest between the axles under my camper. They would drag anything shiny or colored into the nest from around camp. Chewed thru the wires under the camper too. I could not put the blocks under the camper because another member had two labs. I used a claw rake to drag it all out and they rebuilt it. I dragged it out again and drug the stuff further away. One of the labs caught two in one weekend but we still had them. I put the blocks inside my camper everywhere. Set up a live trap and caught three in one weekend. Haven't had a problem since. Keep the live trap baited with shiny colored things when not there. So far, so good.

Take some 3-4" PVC with a T at the bottom and extensions off the T with all thread from the cap going up the T fitting as tall as you'd like and fill with poison as they eat new blocks fall down. Can get alot of poison and as long as dogs don't eat the poisoned rats it's pretty dog proof when screwed to a wall

I had them bad one year. I can tell you the green blocks from TSC do not work. They got ten we put out one night and the took twelve the next night and chewed through the plastic lid on the bucket the poison was in and got who knows how many more. I vacuumed up over 5 gallons of acorns they had brought in and stashed under the bathtub in my camper. They chewed through the heater duct work and water pump. Worst was when they chewed the cord for my mattress heater.
New camper and I bought an electric rodent repeller off Amazon. I keep it plugged in when I’m gone on medium level. No issues so far.

It will get rid of them.
Make some 3 or 4 inch pvc tube "T" traps about 3 feet long with each section. Use coat hanger to keep just one bite bars in place. Examples on web. Took care of our problem and safe if you have dogs around.

I get a bucket of the green poison pellets, looks like green protein pellets. Every tine I leave I thrown a few handfuls under my camper and under my lease truck. Seems to be keeping everything at bay.
I have never had pac rat problems like I did in the northern coke co area tho. They completely destroyed my lease truck there, ate every single wire and vaccum line, even ate a hole through the battery.

I tried everything at our ranch in Foard County, but finally gave up after a pack rat stole the $300 key fob for my truck. Luckily I had a spare key with me. After the theft and then destroying a mattress and café table cushions, I decided to sell the travel trailer before they gnawed it down to the axles. They are a force of nature for sure. One big rat actually made the trip back to Rockwall where he was greeted by a trap laced with peanut butter. No real advice here, but good luck.
