    East Texas hunting

Was able to score a spot on the lease with my grandpa this year. We are located in patroon.

Looking into doing a food plot 25 yard by 50 yard long as well as dropping a feeder down near a creek roughly 80 yards from the plot. I am thinking to set up the bow stand at the food plot and rifle stand/ground bling near the creek area. The creek area is down hill from where my rifle stand will be 60 yards away or so?

Looking for any tips for this off season on how to get setup, what and what not to do, does my plan sounds reasonable? I will be going up about once every couple weeks, hoping my cellular cameras get signal so I can see whats going on without making the drive. I plan to set the feeder to run closer to summer time, roughly 3 months before season.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Sounds like a great setup for South tx.

Ok on a serious note..... Where are the deer bedding? What wind direction can you hunt it on? Can you get in and out without deer knowing? Is there a good tree for a stand or a good bush for a ground blind? Are you planning on hunting the feeder or hand corn away from it? Are you just hunting any deer or looking for a mature deer?

          More info needed.

It can work..first year they didn’t touch it much. Second year they hammered it.

If there are White Oaks on that creek be sure to have a bow stand within shooting range of as many trees as possible.

I agree "No deer in east Texas". Why would you spread you deer out? I would put my feeder where my food plot is at. If it is only 80 yards apart and you cant see the Feeder from the food plot, dont do it. If the deer want some corn the will travel 80 yards to get it.

Plan best you can to keep wind in your favor...Food plots great BUT problems in ET are Flood or too Dry/Hogs tear it up/acid soil/too much shade/planting time you gota have moisture or get rain quick to get plants started...Good Luck

Total photoshop! East Tx is a waste of time chasing deer. No deer here. I’d recommend West or South.
