That’s a Banded watersnake. Round pupils, long and skinny tail.
A cottonmouth has vertical pupils and a stump tail

Looking at the markings on the sides of his/her mouth I say Cottonmouth. Definitely.

I never saw it in person. My dad is convinced it is a certain species but I believe it to be another.
