I have to say I've been extremely pleased with my 2008 Tundra CrewMax 4x4 SR5 TRD. Bought it new with a little factory 3/1 lift installed and a bed cover. It has 155,000 miles on it. I use 4x4 around once a month on avg. and periodically pull a trailer and a small rv. It's my everyday driver and I use the heck out of it, but I don't beat it up. It gets an oil change and tire rotation every 5k miles and currently 1 tire sensor is out in it.
In 11yrs that I've owned it:
I've bought 3 sets of tires (so on my 4th set). 3 sets of 33" BFG AT's, current set on it is 35" Cooper Discover ST's.
I've replaced 1 catalytic converter 2 yrs ago.
I've replaced 1 O2 sensor.
I've replaced headlights and fog lights in Feb this yr (complete replacements).
Within the past month had mechanic replace:
spark plugs and spark plug boots for the first time,
replace brakes (currently on 3rd set),
Replace rotors (1st time),
Replace tie rods (1st time),
I replaced serpentine belt (1st time),
Service/drain/replace front and rear diff fluid,
Service/drain/replace trans fluid, replaced filter/serviced,
and inspect everthing from the the headlights to the tail lights.
I can honestly say this is the best truck I've ever owned and I'll keep it until the wheels fall off.Last edited by lglidewell; 08-22-2018, 12:06 PM.

I went with the Toyota (2018 TSS package 4X4) and it was $45K~ out the door, stickered at $52K. I have had Chevy and Ford products and they both disappointed me. The Ford Ranger had a cracked head on it at 77K miles and the Chevy started falling apart on the interior at 100K. Most recently had a 2008 Nissan Frontier and aside from a sensor replaced, nothing was ever wrong with it and I beat it up. Traded it in with 179K miles on it and still got $5K in trade in value. The only complaint I have with the Tundra is the gas mileage (which I knew going in) and the seats are not that comfortable on a trip over 3 hours.
Two of my coworkers both said they had Chevy Silverados, 2012 and 2013's, both had engine problems at less than 70K miles (one under warranty and the other was not). I just don't think american made vehicles are on par with the Japanese as far as the quality and longevity, IMHO.

Brand new Z71 GMC Sierra is way under $50k, more like $40k with all the bells and whistles https://www.beckmastennorth.com/Vehi...-TX/3167397573
I bought one a few months ago and paid $41,230 for a SLT Premium Package (bed cover, spray on liner, Bose Sound System, large touch screen, heated and cooled leather seats, remote start, front and rear sensors...). That's $41,230 + TTL to be clear. It stickered for $55,885.Last edited by tmurray; 08-22-2018, 02:09 PM.
