Refuge will shoot the nilgia off the hunt areas out of helicopters after this hunt season. Good luck to those who still have hunts this year. Much rather see hunters have a successful nilgia hunt than the refuge shooting them for the coyotes. Shame that they can't see the public land nilgia hunting provides to the public. You'd think the 100+ thousand in hunter permit revenue would be an incentive to manage for better hunting rather than eradication of the hunted species.

Here is the board yesterday. As I was leaving there were two wt bucks and a nilgai cow being checked in that aren't listed there.

I had a email out to tpwd and they finally replied. Leo Gustafson says you can scout and place blinds the day before the rifle hunt.
