    Video quality

I dug out my old canon z200 and have shot a few videos off a tripod while hunting. But when I play the back they just aren't clear at all. I'm recording to a sd card instead of the old little cassette tapes. Could the sd card be the problem? Or is it just the old camera? When I say not clear I mean you can't make out any horn detail. I MIGHT be able see shot placement if I were to take a shot.

I think that's a Standard def camera, right? You're just not going to see high resolution (relative to HD cameras) from SD camera.

You might see better results capturing to tape instead of SD card. Old cameras compressed the video to record to digital media more than they did to record to tape.

You need to get a Go Pro. They capture great videos!
