Default Matagorda beach find!

My wife and some of her teacher friends spent the weekend at our place in Matagorda, while they where out walking the beach one of them found this gem. I guess with the rough surf the past week it washed up. We have found lot's of smaller teeth but nothing like this one.

That’s so rad - if the surf fishing’s bad we always end up hunting for sea glass down there. Prime sea glass hunting.

Not pulling anyone's anything, we've been walking that beach for year's and my wife's friend was just in the right spot. I collect Megalodon teeth and tried to buy it from her, but she wouldn't have any of that!!! She definitely lucked out finding it

Two years ago while at Port A I was wading the 2nd bar and found a petrified concho shell, last year I found a petrified bone I have yet to identity. Who knows what you may find out there.

Nice! My 6yo is going to be jealous when I show her this. We've spent a ton of time looking for a sharks tooth down there. We found two prehistoric horse teeth about 10 yards apart from each other. Still kicking myself for not marking where we were. Somewhere around the shell banks.

I would suggest your wife going to buy a lottery ticket ASAP! That is a once in a lifetime find; I have a small box of teeth I found on the west side of Galveston. Nothing like that gem, though.

I've been researching/planning a megladon tooth dive. From all the pictures I've seen, I'm pretty sure that's a megladon tooth.

Awesome find!

That's a great find! My daughter and son-in-law go looking for shark teeth all the time in North Carolina near Camp Lejune. Here is the pics she sent me the other day of one of their morning trips
