Secondary was atrocious in the first half but played much better in the 2nd despite several injuries. Special teams, Pffftt, that was horrible.

As far as Herman, the no FG kicking thing has bothered me from the get go, especially in the first half. I'm not saying never go for it on 4th, but jeez, sometimes it just makes sense to take 3 pnts. What REALLY bothers me about Herman are these clock-draining 3 and outs he likes to run once we're up by 2 td's. I mean, if you want to do that, wait till we're up 21 pnts or more. We squandered 2 off. possessions when we could have gone up at least another score. We were a bobbled onside kick away from losing last night, all because of that silly 4th qrter game plan. It's also how we let OU back in the game last year. If he doesn't change this, we will lose many more close games that shouldn't have been close.
I thought Ingram looked healthy for the first time last night. I saw some of the lateral quickness that made him standout last year. Maybe with the extra week off a few others can get healthy.

The defense played great in the second half. I liked it alot. Lol. They only gave up 10. Could have been 3 without the muffed punt by a senior leader.

I think they will be in the top 25.

May have sealed Cumbie's fate. GP threw him under the bus after the game. They have had a rift going it seems for the last couple of years.....

You are second in line. I'm waiting on our resident Pony to 'brand' me. I'll sport his for a week, then yours the following week(unless he would rather do it the other way). Either way, I should have one up by the end of the day

I donít think we jump into top 25 yet. I can hope, as any and all recognition we can get can only help. Itís a sad deal when the kids I teach today have never even heard of SMU. Sonny has em going in the right direction and as I said previously, they do not remotely resemble any of the teams of the post DP years. Much more physical group than Iíve seen since the Ď80ís.

Yeah I have been good with Herman going for it on 4th down since he got here, but I think itís time to adjust strategy. He had the better team last night. We were winning the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. No reason to take risks. Take the points and make the inferior team have to play that much better. Mack was a master at that. Now in big games play more aggressively as the reward/risk is greater.

Happy we were able to win a game with so many blunders. But at what cost? How many defensive starters got seriously injuries in a game where we should have been blowing them out and getting backups in earlier? This game will likely cost us down the road.

Somehow the sun came up today. Feel like I got hit in the head with an iron skillet. Congrats to SMU. Welcome to the top 25. Don't screw up what you got brewing in D town. Bring on Mad Hatter. Going to be a battle to hold down Rock Chalk

Lol true, but for some reason that was because Gundy was still running the ball on 1st & 2nd down when his team was down 13 pts in the 4th quarter!?!!

Just what I saw. Running game was nada. He had open receivers a lot....down 2 TDs in the fourth..seems like a no brained to throw that *****!

Then again I had no problem with going for it on 4th down...aside from the play call.

Jevan's dad was the ranch manager for a lease I ran in the early 90's in Eden Texas. I was on the lease with several friends who were former Longhorn players, one of which was former UT qb Rob Moerschell. Jevan would run around camp begging Rob to throw him his football. It was one of those little cheerleader balls that I am sure he had caught at the local Eden football game. Finally Rob brought him a legitimate football with Longhorn signage on it. You'd of thought someone had just given him a million dollars! I was coaching in San Angelo and kept up with his dad till they moved to Stephenville. I hate hearing he has passed. Sad deal
