    New Fawn crop.

My first fawn hit the ground on Saturday April 28. That is the earliest I have noticed in Harris County. No pic so I guess it didn't happen. Also some good bone growth.

Dang! No joke! In 4 years there should be some seriously big antlered deer being taken.

So do you normally wait until they are 9.5 years old?

Wow. From what I saw as “peak” in my area. Last week of May first of June should be some fawns.

WeÂ’ve had fawns on the ground on the ranch here in Brazoria County for over a month. Cute little buggers! We feed about 20-30 does and a few young bucks every day but They arenÂ’t bringing the fawns up close yet.

Yep. First “rut is on” thread comes from Brazoria county every year around mid August.

Not quite mid-August, but early September for sure.

I drove up on this today at our rifle range. I knew momma had one in the grass, the way she was acting. You can see our temp deck for our firing line at the end of the video. Not great video but it was cool to watch. I honestly thought I’d just cancel practice, but they moved off into the brush to the right of the range.
