great movie! Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't been wiped from the history books for it's "racial content".

I was wondering how they could have some of the most important parts on TV. Guess they can’t. It’s on Amazon and Netflix. I’ll watch it there with all of its profanity intact.

One of the only DVDs I own. Classic from the time when people weren't over sensitive and enjoyed a good joke. Funny is funny. And everyone was made fun of. Too bad nothing that like will ever be made again. Buuuut, can't watch it on TV. Too sensored

I wish we could go back to the pre-PC days. Instead of driving all the racists into hiding, we used to ALL just call them out by making fun of them and exposing them for the idiots they were. The word "racist" has just about lost its effect because it gets thrown around so much you can't really take it or the person using the term seriously. We as a society were really progressing when we used humor to take away their power.

My wife and I were checking in at a conference a couple of years ago and the young lady helping us said "Here are your badges". I looked at her with a straight face and said, "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges." She just had a puzzled look on her face while everyone in line busted out laughing. I asked her if she got that quote a lot and she was still confused. Too young I guess to get the reference(s).

It was Mel brooks. He wanted Richard prayer but he was pretty controversial at the time and I believe Richard recommended Clevon for the part.

Dad was on a naval ship in the 70’s and this was one of the films they had onboard. He said they carried several copies because one would “mysteriously” get tossed overboard every so often. Guess somebody had thin skin
