    Never fails.

Last week I resigned myself to just leasing for hunting and living down on the coast after I retire. Then while on travel this week I find this little 50 Acre ranch for sell in the Hill country. I drive by there and it's like paradise. Small river running down one side with a hat feild. Then wooded back up the hill. When I get out of the car a herd of white tail jump up and run about 50 yards. I called the wife and couldn't stop talking about the place. She now thinks I'm bipolar or something.

The place sounds amazing. It reminds me of this scene from Funny Farm.

If it has a running river in this drought that’s awfully impressive

I saw that, but didn't have the gumption to go back and fix it. LOL

It wasn't running much, but there was water and a little movement. Figured that's why the deer were hanging out there.

Ill take the coast. Having a small piece of land gets boring. It gets small quick and the deer you have become more like pets. I have a 8 pointer that I can throw tortillas to that most folks on here would shoot in a heartbeat. At one time I would have as well and considered it a trophy deer. Now they are just pets and when a good cold front comes in I will go outside grocery shopping and kill about 100# of meat. (4 deer)

                            Never fails.

When we bought our place here in Sonora last year, I told my wife she could NOT name the deer because I was planning on eating them!
