    Wonder If I Will EVER????

Kill a "Once in a Lifetime" buck or a buck over 150". I put out a BUNCH of feed, walk a LONG ways to my stands, pass a TON of deer up & yet, my biggest buck is just shy of 130". Don't get me wrong, I don't want to give up hunting one bit, I just always wonder when or if, I will get the opportunity.

I am glad and genuinely happy every time i see where someone has shot a BIG deer & offer up my congrats but there is that small part of my brain that ALWAYS is asking "why not me"?

Anyone else fell like this or am I being selfish?

A lot of people that hunt around West Columbia feel the same way.

Don't give up hope for a big toad! We're low fence and most of our "trophies" are a max out at around 130. Five years ago we took a 180 buck and this year we shot a 160 buck. You just never know what will happen.

Unless you're high fence....where you shoot the pets!

First question is do you have big deer where you hunt?
If so, then sooner or later you probably will.
You have to pass on the good ones to get a great one.
                  And no, not being selfish.

That doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with it. It could have more to do with geography (meaning what part of the state or even what state).

I’ve been blessed to have killed 6 bucks over 150” with three of them being over 170”, but I probably wouldn’t have one over 140” if I just hunted around the house here in east TX.. NW Oklahoma has been good to me.

How long have you been in West Columbia? Do you know any Hagemeiers?

Are there 150 inch deer in the area? I think a lot of people feel that way but a lot of places juat don't have that kind of deer population.

I've killed lots of deer, and the biggest whitetail might score 130 if I had him measured, and I've never chewed on an antler yet. But if you crave inches, go hunt where they are.

You must be giving out opinions for Christmas.

OP, I have been trying to hit the 150 mark for 13 years now and still haven't done it. Im not saying it either of us wont, but I sure question it a lot of days.
