    Field point diameter

Just got some new Easton axis arrows with the ht inserts (yes they passed the recall test). I had never heard your field points need to be the same or smaller diameter than your shaft diameter. How important is this/ which field points do y'all like? The HIT insert has an 8/32 thread. Thanks

It just makes it easier to pull out of targets. I usually buy the smallest ones I can find in 100gr. I think they're 9/32 or something like that.

With a larger diameter fp you will be pulling harder to get it out because the foam will shrink back to your arrow size and you be fighting the foam more than with a proper sized fp. With the fp being smaller diameter than your arrow it will lose energy a little bit quicker reducing the penetrating depth of the arrow which will make it easier to pull out. You won't be fighting to pull the fp out with it being smaller than your arrow. Kinda confusing but you get the idea. It's better to have the exact size or smaller fp.
