Wife hunted with me last night

I’d been seeing the same boar all week on my MoultrieMobile cam between 11-3am, so I talked my wife into making a trip to the ranch near Gonzalez. She was a trooper in the hot/humid blind. 2 of the bucks on the kill list kept coming in, eating and getting spooked from 10-2. I could tell my wife was ready to go, so I told her we wouldn’t stay longer than 30 more mins. 15 mins in he came out and took a dirt nap shortly after. He’s got some decent cutters, so I kept the head to do a euro. I’ve done a couple before where I soaked the head in water and let the bacteria do it’s work, sprayed off periodically, then bleached. Any tips on an easier way would be great.

Skin the head and cut off all the meat you can. Boil it in water and dawn soap. Then pressure wash it. Then go to the beauty store and get some 40 % peroxide and mix it with water and soak it

What Justin said. Hopefully you threw it in the freezer. Skin it and take as much meat as possible. Simmer in water with dawn. Pressure wash. Throw in a bucket with peroxide and water. Do not use bleach. Bleach ruins skulls.

Way to keep your head in the game. Good work.

Thanks y’all. My wife has a friend that is a hair dresser, so I’ll be able to get the good peroxide.

Nice hog! I’ve always had trouble getting all the grease off a hog head. The simmering with dawn / pressure washer / hair bleach method has always worked great for deer but I’ve tried several hog heads and they always come out greasy. In for suggestions!

I have had to simmer them three or four times( clean water between simmers) , add backing soda to the water, along with industrial degreaser. They are a pain to get the grease out of.

                        Thanks for the pointers

Well sika. Most use dawn. I actually use the arm and hammer clothes detergent with the oxy clean in it. Got my daughters hog skull paper white. I also boil in the peroxide.
