        Very inspired...I have them like rats around here. Never dropped one, cause I've boon told they taste like rat... That don't look like rat to me!

        I guess I just need to start killing stuff, and figuring it out for myself.

            Our lease must be on a migration route cause they will fly over all day long and you can hear them way before you see them.

            I'm gonna have to see if I need a special stamp or something.

              I believe waterfowl stamp and Free Sandhills crane permit from your local TOWD office.

                      You need the state migratory stamp and free Federal Crane Permit available at TPWD offices. No federal waterfowl stamp required.

                      I'm already planning a trip back to Lubbock soon. I need more!

                          No waterfowl stamp? interesting. I've always wanted to shoot one, too, but I'm in the no-shoot zone. I love hearing them and seeing them light into the area.

                                I cook it just like I do a ribeye. Rub with olive oil, sea salt, and fresh cracked black pepper and cook to medium rare over mesquite coals. Some of the best eating wild game there is.
