Corn bandits of a different species....

I always feed extra corn on the roads and around the feed pen where I am going to hunt. This morning it was not enough. Right after daylight they appeared in numbers and made one pass to clean up most of the extra corn I had put out. They did not miss much and were gone as fast as they appeared.

Yep, they are corn eating machines, we have a lot right up to about a week or two before duck season and then they go further South.

Oh okay. I don't know my ducks except for Mallards and Wood Ducks. Really neat looking birds.

I always thought I should have been a duck hunter but then I remember we don't have any water around here.

They are around here year around. I see them at corn feeders almost every month of the year it seems. There are times they come in every day.

I hate them. I've heard that bergers chunked on a hard sendero act like grenades amongst them.....

This..... Very good eating duck and actually the mature ones make beautiful mounts..
They WERE horrible here at the house. Not some much the last couple of years. Worse at cleaning up corn than a flock of turkey...
Looks like they may be making a come back though...

Last I looked the bag limit was 5 per day.
