Looking at a gun safe and can't decide on dial or electronic.

Dial isn't dependent on batteries or electricity.

Ill never do a digital safe again. Had keypads fail on the two I have owned. Never had a problem with my dial safes.

This is one area where it is best to go old school.

I like the dial. Doesn't take long once you got the sequence down.

Keypad for me. I can access it much faster if needed and if for some reason the keypad fails all you have to do is pull the pad off and use the key. I've had mine for 10 years and have had zero issues...battery has only been changed once and that was just to be safe.

Not a fan of the keypad. That's my 2 cents.

Hate dial and love key pad
I would recommend it if your opening it fairly often

Locksmith told me that keypad failed 20 to 1 over dial.

Go with a really good commercial grade lock and you will be ok with dial or electronic.

I had a choice, and chose the dial. I haven't had a problem thus far, but I will say it takes some time to get in to. That extra thirty seconds is not a deal breaker to me though.

Dial. Had a buddy with a high dollar digital safe with 20-30K worth of guns and stuff in it. Battery went dead....had to take the 9 volt out of my garage door opener so he could get in his safe to change it...haha Oh by the way, I have a dial safe.

Have both. And I prefer key pad.
