Good luck Justin.... Is the trophy slayer wife going with you?

We are leaving Tuesday this week and hunting through Sunday. I am hoping the deer activity has picked up around other part of the lease because it has been flat abysmal on my Covert at my favorite blind. I do have a crap cull there that will get an arrow if I don't have much else on the other cameras. This has been a weird year so far. I hate, hate August and September rains.....for dove and deer

Hopefully these temps will make the deer start hitting the feeders more and kick off the rut.

Was a great weekend to be out in the woods. One of the best weíve had as a lease so far. We ended up taking 13 deer, trying to put a dent in our cull and doe count before the big boys start chasing.

I videoed this buck Friday morning and I put another TBH member on him that evening. Iíll let daniel post how harvest pics on his awesome management buck.

My old man, the man that taught me everything ended up with a couple does. Couldnít be happier for him.

Also got to take one of my buddies out hunting and introduce his five year old, Nolan to the outdoors. They ended up harvesting a great management 8. Nolan has a great time and didnít want to leave.

Congrats to the hunters.

It was the exact opposite for us. Hunted 5 sits and never saw a doe nor a mature deer. Feeder activity is the slowest it has been all year. Still have several deer we know made it through the season that havenít showed back up. Maybe these 3 days of frost will get them back on feeders.

The rut is on!! We are in Coke County as well. Great sign last weekend. It should be awesome this weekend as well. I would put out a hand corn spot and get some does coming to it for your best option. Hard to do at our lease but that's your best bet at a big boy right now. They aren't hitting feeders very hard.

Went out last night to see what's going on. Saw some good deer but I'm holding out for a tall racked 10 I saw earlier in the year. Bucks are harassing the does and rolling peanuts down the road, the next 10 days should be on fire!

We saw good deer movement and lots of deer every sit. I whacked a doe and my buddy whacked three pigs.

I saw two mature 10 points in the 130-135" range that I probably would have run an arrow through, but I was rifle hunting to get a doe on the ground.

Nope....My Covert is still blah...and one of my lease members sat Wed and was skunked. Skunks never happen unless it rains heavily in September/ early October. Humper has been religiously, weekend after weekend with few breaks after one deer and has low numbers as well. No blood drawn on teh lease by Thanksgiving just doesn't happen.

I went out this afternoon and looked around. Some heavy chasing going on. Plenty of corn under feeders but bucks all over. Itís getting prime for finding deer just may not be at a feeder.

Default 2018 San Angelo surrounding area season thread.....

Still chasing some at our place near Christoval. This buck we named Splitter, has been amazingly elusive this year and screwed up chasing a girlfriend into a feedpen today. Tbher Supersport who doesn't post much here made him pay. 147Ē rough score gross per him. Heavy deer all the way to his tips.

Wow what a awesome deer. Love the dark horns. Is activity increased any? Our place looks like a ghost town we have killed 4 deer so far this year usually we are around 12 or so by now.
