Snake Skin Tanning

I've just tanned my first snake skin and used the glycerin & alcohol method and now have it drying out on a board. Has anyone used a sealant or anything like that to help keep it from fading? Is that necessary to prevent the color from fading?

With the glycerin it shouldn't fade. Just keep brushing it on the skin until it doesn't absorb anymore and it's good. Should look like it just came off the snake for a long time.

I have 4 I did 5 yrs ago using this method and they have yet to fade.
