Can’t wait to stretch her legs

I think I need to break up the color a little bit more, but I couldn’t wait. Gonna leave it like this for a bit because I’m ready to put her to work. Glass bedded, free floated, dura coated, and Athlon scope mounted. Can’t wait to get her out because this scope is ridiculous!!

Well thanks. Affirming I have a dirty mind.
But on the real side. Beautiful rifle.

I saw spread instead of stretch when I first skimmed over it.

Anyways, this looks like fun too!

Can you go into more detail how you glass bedded and duracoated the stock? Looks fantastic!

I've got the same scope on my RAP in MDT chassis. Excellent scope. Clear, tracks well and repeatable. I had no problem getting hits to 1100, the dope was dead on with the ballistics app I used.

                          What ballistics app?

this was my first time glass bedding, and it was a frightening experience. I used acraglass gel and the release agent that comes with it. I guess I did not get enough release agent around the front action screw and it took some semi-heavy hammer blows to get the action loose. The final product turned out really nice and it is a snug fit. but, I honestly did not think I was gonna get the action loose from it. All I did was use a drimmel and a small carbide cutting bit to remove some material and roughen up the areas that I was gonna add bedding to. Filled all the voids with play dough, layered on the release agent, and went at it. I will most likely try a different release agent next time. maybe johnsons paste wax or kiwi shoe polish.

the duracoat was quick and easy. I just finished doing my boys rifles with stencil kits and it took me several days to complete because of all the drying before you can place stencils. This took no time at all. covered the stock with the base color (light tan). then did some diagonal lines with light green. went back with fishing net over the green and filled it with grey. then used a limb with a couple leaves on it to place in the tan areas and hit it with darker green. followed that with dark brown using burlap to make the speckled effect. finished it off with clear coat.
I also painted the barreled action and magazine grey.
