Red Stag or Sika?

I know there was an animal pic on here the other day that brought up the same question. Very rarely do we see any exotics on our lease, so I was quite surprised by this, so what is it? Thanks

All the same and all delicious. Red deer hinds and young stags are fantastic. Really similar to elk. And, like the others said that is a stag. Look at the head and the tan/red rump patch.

Both better than Whitetail in my book. The animal is a red deer. The males are Stags. The females are called Hinds.

Thanks gentlemen, looks like "deer" hunting season is going to start early for me. Heavy on the "hunting" part..............my luck I will probably never see him again.
