The GW does not have to authority to let you shoot that buck in an AR county. I know several, and not a one would let anyone get away with shooting that buck!!!

And I would shoot and mount that buck in a heartbeat if it were legal!

That's what I hate about the ARs, the wardens will not apply common sense. The 13" rule isn't about the antlers, its about age and the GW know that and use the rule to their advantage.

There is no doubt that deer is mature and will never achieve 13" no matter how long it lives.

I'm with the guys that are counting this as one antler. Not sure if it would be legal, or not. Show it to a game warden and let him make the call. Interesting buck either way.

Example.
I can on a lease i was on shot a buck the his spread was outside of his ears. But when you buy the tape to him he wasn't 13 wide.
He call GW and when he got there they explained the situation.
GW walked over held up the ears and side he would have shot him to based on the ears .
He measure him to check it was with in 1/2 -3/4 I don't remember.
But his ears where will inside spread.
He wrote the guy a warning and let his wife keep the deer.
So in some cases the WG Can find wiggle room inside the law.

The warden may not write you a ticket for shooting a mature deer like the one pictured, but he darn sure isn’t gonna tell you to shoot it if it’s alive.
