Hey Rick I was thinking about this earlier today. Might be 100% rookie talking here but bear with me. Do you bare shaft tune your arrows? If so, and if you bare shaft tune like you approach everything you do traditional-wise, I'm guessing your bare shafts fly exactly like your fletched shafts. With that in mind you'd be able to do the same sound test with an un-fletched shaft yes? I understand the need for fletchings but in a controlled environment (I.E. not a hunting situation) you'd shoot as well bare as fletched yes?

What I mean is as good as most folks are on here ya'll could shoot bare shafts for hunting and sling a (I think) much quieter arrow.

Just thinking out loud via type.

    Richard.

Richard, no matter how good your bareshafts are tuned, or how good you can shoot, shooting bareshafts can be tricky, and one small pluck of the string can send them off in the wrong direction, and into the next county.

      They would be quiet though,

      Rick
