Devils River State Natural Area, Del Norte Unit

We're luck enough to be drawn for this awesome hunt. Hunt started on 1/10/14 and runs through 1/13/14. All I can say that this is one awesome place to hunt. It's a very tuff hunt however. Deep canyons and flat tops. We have seen animals every hunt. By buddy shot a 27" aoudad on the first evening. 520 yard shot with a 300 ultra mag.

When our group went we were in a section with an old torn down high fence running through it. I'm not sure the number but I shot a 32" ram. Hope y'all have a great hunt! Let us know how it goes.

I was out there this past Oct on the archery hunt. Missed a small aoudad at 21 yds but connected on a 32 yd shot with some kind of sheep. Guys running the hunt didn't know what it was. A nanny with no horns. One park ranger did a little more research and said it was more than likely a cross. This was in section 3. Another guy had several misses and did kill a ram. Think he was in section 7/8.
Pretty tough hunt in 80 degree weather.

Love that area. I hunted there 2 years ago and day dreaming to get back. Thats one heck of an animal.
