Yep, he's been out since Thursday and the defense has out shinned the offense in both scrimmages.

Corner, DL and Safety play has been great. Linebackers are a work in progress.

It's common for the D to look better than the O especially this time of year. OU just reported the same.

Herman runs a tough camp. Says he will lighten up after next Sat. Should translate well to gameday. Im tired of soft Texas teams.

I like that chart. Yep, it's time.

Texas will be so much better without Strong running the show as well. It would be a big turnaround but it can for sure happen.

Check that, he's still rehabbing.

Another Herman note: Expect to see a 2 deep at week's end, "You'll see some scholarship guys on the scout team"...

You anticipate any big surprises with the 1's(except for possibly the injury positions)?

A couple, both somewhat due to injuries.

I think Kirk Johnson gets the nod at RB (won't matter much, hot hand will get the carries) and Okafor gets the nod at RT.

TCU has a couple of head scratchers right now. Blacklock is running with the 3's. I actually had him pegged as a starter but the freshman has come in and taken that role(as of right now).

Fairly certain Reagor will be a starter by the time camp is done, less of a surprise.

Also, not totally ecstatic about Summers moving to DE but it's somewhat out of necessity I guess.

I thought T. Carter would take the RB spot by fall camp. Not one bit supposed about warren. Kid just can't stay healthy.

Love the Kirk J news. Agree it will be by committee but his wheels are something else. I think he could be special and Warren will be devastating if he's healthy and fresh in the 4th Q.

I really like Reagor. He's going to be a good one. I was hoping Texas flipped him late.

I was surprised TCU was able to hold onto him. I saw him play the second game of his junior year in HS and was shocked TCU hadn't offered him at that point. Guy was super athletic. Not overly physical, but reminds me of a Stephen Smith type guy at that age.

Texas is loaded at receiver anyways!

Not to change the subject, but Isaiah Chambers just tweeted he is transferring from TCU. I had heard there was some issues, but this is a big blow. Hope it works out for the kid, he's been through a lot!

Is it just me, or does it sound kind of eerily similar to Strongs approach. Didn't he clean house and shake things up when he got there and everone thought it was going to be great...only to not be?

He's not cleaning house IMO. Tons of talent on campus. I see it as more of getting the guys where they belong.

The Texas guys will chime in I'm sure

This.

There is some talent there but some bread too. They are sorting it out. The one thing I have picked up on is you take plays off, loaf, and are not tough you will quickly be exposed.

This is what I have seen as an outsider. There are always misses, etc. Even though I know that was Charlie's 'gimmick', this seems like more of a hard line from TH. I think there will be a learning curve from the game management side of things(as with every coach), but I believe this will be a much more disciplined Longhorn team....he has Frankenstien to deal with, lets see if he is the mad scientist!

That wasn't Bob. It was me. Maybe others can chime in but the story I've always heard is Broyles retired because of Switzers antics. I don't think it's that far fetched but I couldn't possibly care less one way or the other.

Could be. I just looked at some stuff and reportedly Broyles called Switzer to be his replacement at Arkansas. If true, would seem to debunk my statements. Sorry. No harm intended. Really was just a joke.

As far as DKR goes................yeah, no love lost there.

From Burnt Orange Nation -
In QB battle, Sam Ehlinger has narrowed gap with Shane Buechele, in large part through improved decision making, getting ball out faster.
