We hunted all night.
Called 8 dogs, shot 3, killed 2.
Called a cat, couldn’t get a shot on it.

Dogs were howling all around us but couldn’t get them to the call.

Fun but tough hunt.

Didn’t make weigh in and saw about 10 other trucks on the highway that didn’t either.

We killed 5 dogs and 2 cats, biggest being 26 lbs.
Did not drive to check in so curious to see results.

Had to hunt to 5 AM to get the 5th dog....tough night of calling for being great weather where we were at.

There is ways controversy over this contest. People just be jealous. Wish we could have hunted it this year. Got several cats located just need to get one of them in the truck. Maybe the March contest I can make it out this year.

The amount of money this contest pays out, they should always question all the top teams.

Iíve always wondered that myself. Polygraph people that are hopped up on energy drinks and been up all night. Wonder how accurate that is.

Yep, and if you're friends with the winner, well, we'll just say you passed .
Seen that more than once at bass tournaments, here in E TX.

Yep. That is why I stopped fishing ET Bass Tournaments. I've seen too many big bass with "Cage Rash".

Congrats to the winners.

After that butt munch from Oklahoma screwed it up for everyone else that hunted the contest in Oklahoma and now this I hope they don't get the contest shut down if it turns out they cheated.

so i gotta ask everyone... how on earth do these teams get 97 fox? that's one every 14 minutes.

do these teams drive all night with the call playing? is that the definition of "trolling"? we always drive to a spot, put the call out, hop in the rack, call for 20-45 min, etc. that takes a lot of time.

i've only hunted the way i do, so i'm just wondering how they all do it. i see some rigs with speakers on the racks, etc.

That's trolling and from what I've heard it's very effective. Never have seen it done though.

We have killed 46 in just under 4 hrs of calling in a night no a contest night sadly. Call 10-15 minutes on a fox stand and then move on. And it is nothing in some places to call up 3-6 foxes on a stand and kill all of them. So if you get 4 stands per hour you only have to kill 2-3 per stand so you only need 32 stands or call for 8-10 hrs.

So what was with the suspicion on the winning cat I wonder? I've caught bobcats in live traps and they don't look any different than ones that you'd call in and shoot. No visible marks that would raise suspicion. It had to of been a question on the polygraph test that was questionable regarding that.

The biologist said the cat was missing the ear tufts (little black hair on top of the ears). Caged cats usually will rub these off and had a single small caliber bullet hole in the neck. This is what I heard from someone that was up there talking to them.

Oh I see. Well shoot that sucks. But if they passed the lie detector test I don't suppose there's much more that they can do. It's too bad if that's the case because they already got burned before. That's irritating.

Often times the lie detectors they do at bass tournaments and I assume cat contests are the Retna scam tests. They put more stock in the pre-questionnaire than the actual retna scan as the results are suspect at best.
