    fishing - thumb protector

Maybe I'm just a weenie, or maybe I catch too many fish ... but my thumb gets wore smooth out after a day/night of catching fish and holding their lips to remove hooks, like to the point of pure rawness and it's dry and cracking, kinda painful. Mainly happens when I'm crappie fishing and catching lots of sandies mixed in. Hard to wear gloves and put minnows on hooks. What works to keep your thumbs from getting tore up?

Stop being a weenie or grab the fish by the back instead of the lip.

You should try spraying your hands with Triactin.... usually helps with this kinda thing.

See if you can get your husband to unhook your fish for you, and bait your hook

Bring your husband along to take the fish off.

Lol tough crowd but you were kind of asking for it.

Only thing I would recommend would be a small strip of duct tape. I use a small strip on the tip of my index finger when surf fishing to put more tension on the reel when a fish is taking drag, don't see why it wouldn't work for what you need

Get you an office job where you do a lot of typing on the computer. I can’t even feel the teeth through my keyboard callouses.
