In a Jam- can I paint damp concrete

    Hello GS,
I have a issue with damp concrete. I have a outdoor kitchen to be delivered on Thursday and I am headed out of town for work tomorrow. Was planning on painting my concrete slab today but there is alot of moisture. Should I just hold off on painting or can I paint it and not have issues?

    Thanks

You will need the humidity to be under a certain point. It will be different for every paint type. Short answer would be if slab has moisture on it I would think hard time bonding. Another problem is you would want paint to completely cure before putting something on top of it

I would not dot it but read on the paint can and see what it says.

There’s actually some epoxy products you can install on green concrete. They come in different colors. It’s used a lot for coating a concrete deck before the roofer installs on top of it.

                  No!!
Green and high moisture are two different things.
Do not paint anything with moisture in it. It will bubble and peel. That moisture has to go somewhere.

you have your answer. NO! it will not bond and then peel off in sheets soon after you start putting things on it.

When you get back if it's not prepped right it will feel but I'm sure you already know that.

Call Valspar and ask. Might act like a cure.
