Time has taken a toll and I have not been kind to them . . As a result, I am experiencing what seems like an onset of arthritis . . Just curious to see if anyone has found a remedy . . Not a complete cure but something to ease the pain . .

I am 42 and have RA.
I take a shot every week to be able to get up and keep moving. It sucks.
There are lots of things you can do to try and remove the inflammation.
Epson Salts soak. Hot water and Epson salt.
If you drink cut it back
There are some OTC oils that you can try. Just go to and GNC type store.

Cut back on the alcohol. It produces sugars that make it worse. I have basal joint arthritis. The worse case scenario. I have no joint left so i get shots about every two months. These shots are by far the worst pain you can imagine. But they keep me working until I cant take it no longer. Surgery they will remove the basal bone. Then replace it with a tendon in your arm. Sounds like a good time doesn't it?

I have terrible ostio arth. in my hands shoulders knees ankles and my neck ( too many years riding broncs). the best things I have found that actually help are celebrex and a new product called pennsaid gel terribly expensive but the Doc gives me a coupon and it only costs $10.00 my insurance won't cover it.

If it's just your hands, you need to go see a hand specialist... could well be carpal tunnel syndrome. One of my co-workers started experiencing swelling and lots of pain in his hands... Went to see a Dr. Jafarnia associated with the Memorial Hermann Sports medicine clinic (now he's at Methodist). He fixed him right up... worth a shot anyway...
Just another prime example as to why gettin' old ain't for sissies!!
