Default Big things are happening

I figured there could be a thread where people could post about the good things that are happening to them in the near future to help drown out all the bad stuff that's happening.

In three days I am graduating from TAMUK with a BS degree in range and wildlife management and a minor in plant and soil science. There's a chance I may have an assistant ranch manager position soon. And to top it off, I'm Getting married in 25 days.

Awesome thread!!! Through an AT contact I scored a Jon Muir Trail permit starting August 11th! I am hitting the JMT southbound from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney (211 miles). Good beautiful hike, great fly fishing and it gets me out of the Texas August heat!!!

My wife and I can start trying for a kid again in 1 week. It has been an up and down 5 months to get to this point. Also, I will be headed to Nigeria in a few months to oversee my 1st project as Project Manager. Technically the latter could be bad but I am excited about the opportunity and the impact it will have on my career.

Yes, it gets in your blood. Lol. JMT (part of OCT) is only 3 weeks. An AT friend scored the permits which are a bear to get.

My oldest son is about to graduate high school and will be starting college in the fall at Sam Houston State. Not a biggie to a lot of folks but it means everything to me. No one in my family has ever been to college so he is breaking that cycle.

I recently got moved from the field into management where I am now a scheduler. Very demanding job but I hope it opens a door to take me places. I've been told "if you can schedule, you can do anything"

On top of that I am now engaged

Youngest son is graduating A&M in 2 days and then starting law school at Baylor. Ranch in South Texas is paid off, House is paid off, killed my first P&Y last year and just signed a three year contract extension at work. If I can stay healthy and not **** my wife off life is pretty good.

Both my Grandboys,

have B-days this month. Both my parents are still alive. I have a home. And food on the table. Can get up and out of bed in the mornings. Have some great relationships here on the GS. And the Lord lets me serve others, sometimes. Truly Blessed with so much.

My little brother has had a legal issue hanging over him for 3 years. Last week everything went away (as it should have) and the family is happy.

I had too much stress in my life and decided to give up an extra job that I was looking forward to. It was too much time away from the things and people I love. Big weight off my chest.

Legal issue that's costing my family $30k in lawyer and court cost. Was asked to work over this summer at work an extra week each month for 3 months that will cover the remainder of my legal expenses. I hate to miss out on a summer with my family but this was put in front of me for a reason.

I'm attending a training course next month starting on the 15th. After 6 weeks of that I get to choose a new career location that will effectively triple my pay. It'll most likely involve a move but will allow me to work with young people entering the military for the first time and in 16.5 short years I'll have an active duty retirement.

After many low points and talks of divorce me and my wife are overcoming, totally changed our home life, getting along great and being better spouses and parents for our children. I love the woman and the struggle was really bringing me down.
