41gr of H4831 and this same bullet is a tack driver in my wife's M77 youth model with the 16" barrel. No deer have escaped when hit either through the shoulders or behind. Great bullet and great round. I've been loading and shooting this Hornady bullet since the early 70's and have never seen a bullet failure in 100's of deer and hogs shot. Even, most of these shots, in a 6mm Remington loaded hot. Good luck to ya.

Do the primers have any effect on the loading?
