    Restomoding a 1986 Chevy

I picked up a 1986 Chevy short bed to restore. It'll be a slow process but will be fun. I'll try to keep it drive able during the whole process.
First thing I need to do is some rust repair.
The cab corners need to be replaced but the rockers are repairable.
I've already got a new power plant lined up.
I'm buying a 400 small block back from a friend that I built in 2005. When I sold it to him it was producing 400+ horsepower.

I'll update as I make progress.

Had an 83' step side SWB with those same wheels on it. Can't wait to see this one progressing.

Scored a freshly rebuilt 700R4 for $300 today. The one in it is trashed.
The one in getting should hold up to the 500+ hp I'm planning.

Well, having been laid off and not finding anything to make the money I'm used to, this will be turned into my daily driver. Should have a transmission in it in the next couple of weeks and rolling.

How about an update on this.

Never got the transmission I wanted.
The shop where it was parked closed their doors and it took me until last week to get the pickup out of the locked fence.
I took it straight to a transmission shop and it now has a freshly rebuilt TH 350 lockup.

Next step is getting it home and replacing the driver's door. I should be rolling around town in it soon.

Finally after over a year of owning it I got to drive it today.
It is finally at my house. I've got a few things to tinker with but it won't be long and it'll be insured, inspected and tagged for regular driving.
