i just returned from rocky ridge ranch, i went after blackbucks which that didnt go so well the wind was really bad and it was cold they just werent moving. the first morning of the hunt i decided to go after meat we stalked the cow elk for half the day and let me tell you it wasnt easy we had them at 20 yards and 2 foxs ran them off well one of the foxs only lived a couple of hours we walked up on them at 5 yards bedding down under a ceder tree i shot the male we tracked and found the fox then the elk had moved to a open pasture with two big trees on it which they wouldnt leave from so i became a monkey and climbed up in the tree and got settled in and it didnt take long for the elk to come back to the tree i let the arrow fly at ten yards and closed the deal. this is the biggest animal i have killed with my bow and the first elk. im going to have one big rug made. ive been to the ranch 3 times and will be returning for years to come, thanks to a great guide we closed the deal to a hard hunt.will have pics soon
