I hunt DCNF every year. The hunting there is TOUGH but there are some seriously big deer! If you don't wanna hunt daylight-dark you're diminishing your chances pretty good. Most of the big bucks I've seen have been between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Hunt hard and hunt safe but they are there!

Finally got to hunt today, watched a small 4 point scratch a tree... not sure why the pic went sideways... he worked on that sapling 25 min.. then turned and walked off.. Now if daddy will come out and show Jr how to rattle his horn's in a big tree... I was 25 ft up.. 15 yds to target.. My phone was in my pack.. so I could not reach it to video the youngster scratching his head gear.. I wont let that happen again..

Headed back out to Kennard tonight with two buddies, i'll post up any luck we have. This might be my last chance to hunt before my son is born but hopefully not =)

Going to Hunt some Wensday... hopefully this cold front will push them out a little more.. any body else see any deer???

My son and I were there on Saturday. I saw a doe in the morning and another in the afternoon, but never could get a shot even though they were only about 40 yards out. My son saw two deer on Saturday morning, and he said one had horns, but they were about 70 - 80 yards away so he couldn't see them too well. I heard some hogs Saturday evening too, but they never came out so I didn't see them. I walked a lot on Saturday, and I only found 3 scrapes so they must be just starting. I bet by next weekend there will be lots of scrapes everywhere.

Well, i saw tons but didn't pull the bow back.

Sat morning i saw a nice 10 that was chasing a doe. He was cracking out curling his lips when he smelt her and chased her off of the field. Saw a total of 28 deer that morning but just not in range.

Sunday morning i saw a nice wide 8 following a younger buck across a field about 100yards out from where i was. Everything i've seen is eating acorns.

I moved my stand to where i saw him dissapear and put up a game cam there.

Going back out there this weekend to see if he'll give me a chance. Maybe ill snag some pictures of him and if i do i'll post em up.

Gonna be COLD ... but I will survive... I have a couple bucks moving around my area.. we shall see what happens in the morning.. wind may make it harder but you cant shoot em sitting in the house.

No Luck so far...still sitting wind may have them hunkered down till late this evening..not even the tree rats are out

Hunted almost 8 hours.... NO SIGHTING OF ANY DEER... oh well.. It will be next week before I can try again..

I will be hunting in ratcliff this weekend. Saw a bunch of good deer last year but all were out of range.

I hunted opening rifle season last year and seen at least 10-15 bucks chasing in 2 hunts. I can't wait!
