Well this hunt is turning out to be tougher than expected. Only one small buck this morning, hopefully they will come in better this afternoon with this colder weather moving in.

We have our first customers 6 does and one 1 1/2 year old spike.

I am jealous of all those does! When the shooting started, my frequent does went nocturnal. Has been slow for me up in NW Comal County. May go sit tomorrow night when the weather clears up.

They showed Friday night and haven't shown since. We were trying to be patient but maybe we should have taken one.

Back in the blind this morning, solo though today. The better half wanted to stay in her nice warm bed, can't say I blame her. Had about 50 lbs of corn on the ground when I left last night and every speck of it is gone this morning. Got a bad feeling about this one but I'm going to give it until 10 and maybe they will get hungry again.

Had 3 but bucks come in, spike, 6pt and an 8pt. I shot the 8, the hit was toward but he was quartering to me. Sucker never would give me a good shot and was about to leave. Gonna give him at least until 9 before I go to look for blood.
