I have a cookbook that I was looking through, because it has a lot of wild game recipes, ranging from venison to pheasant. It also includes wild game that I would not consider eating, until I read the recipes too, like porcupine mulligan, Moose Nose, and Texas Fried Squirrel. The very last is my favorite though- Elephant Stew. I love it so much I though I should share it with you, in the event you find yourself in a situation where you have a lot of people to feed, and you have plenty of time to do it.
Ingredients:
1 elephant
2 rabbits, optional
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
Oven temp- 450 degrees, Baking Time: about 4 weeks
Cut elephant into bite sized pieces. This should take about 2 months. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene stove about 4 weeks at 450 degrees. This will feed 3800 cowhands. If more are expected, 2 rabbits may be added, but do so only if necessary, because most people do not like hares in their stew.
