Robert Ruark wrote that pintails were the best. His grandfather told him they were the only duck that wouldn't cheat and eat fish. In "the old man and the boy", they ate every kind of marsh bird around though. No idea myself, never had any duck that was fit to eat.

Anything wrapped in bacon is delicious. Teal are my favorite.
Other than that i'll slice the meat up and soak with Worcestershire, a lot of chili powder, and other spices and make fajitas.

I personally dont feel the need to waste a bullet on a bluebill or merganser. Give me a creek shot wood duck or a rice rocket teal of any color! Bang for the buck squealers aint bad either.

A nice specklebelly shot before they get on the green fields roasted whole is hard to beat also

B/W teal, the best ... about the same as dove. Have heard wood ducks are pretty good.

All the bigger ducks are just not fit to eat, haven't found a recipe yet that makes them any better.
