Is it a lease with 10 or less hunters or is it a club? If a club dealing with 60 families, not an issue if it's lease then it's an issue unless he is the owner. I have a lease in the hill country where the owner runs our lease and is also a hunter and a club in east Texas where the manager and a few other support people hunt for free. The support people still have to pay for the extras.

Same....got to set an example. Never understood the mindless hacks that thought the rules should not apply to them because they run the place.

Or keep it to yourself? I just don't like the idea of figuring there are x amount of members and it turns out we are not all equal. But we are all doing equal work etc make sense??

He has 3 leases in the Huntsville area and his main lease in the hill country. He pays top dollar for his leases.
The interesting thing he was telling me is more so in east Texas, it is common for the lease boss/manager to pay nothing for his lease.
He splits the total price among his members, excluding himself and in a nutshell they pay for him.
Sounds chicken $%^& to me but he says some of those guys have the mentality that is one of their perks. I am not sure how common it is anymore. Interesting though.

Trust me it is a pain of being the boss gathering money, getting calls from the guy you lease from listening to the ranch hands **** and moan and trying to keep everyone happy. I used to think it was B .S. For the lease boss not paying in full but now after doing it I understand. But for the most part the lease boss usually ends up paying the same are even more Most of the time . And from what I’ve seen the lease boss actually loves what he is doing are he wouldn’t be doing it he wants a great place to hunt just as much as the other guys on the lease it’s a lot easier on him if everybody is happy!! I promise not everyone is made to be a lease boss it can be just as stressful as being a boss for a big company if you don’t have the right the guys !!

I run a 7500 acre lease and I pay the same as everyone else and it has taken all the fun out of hunting; so much I have not been out in the pasture hunting in a couple years ---have to organize all work weekends; get corn and protein use my trailers; make sure blinds are ready; mow the pasture which puts about 160 hours on my tractor; make sure insurance; ranch; electrical; and feed bill is paid ---Yep its great to be lease boss so much I have got on another lease in Tilden so that I can enjoy hunting again and not deal with anything

I have never hunted a place where I knew the Boss was hunting for free. But I totally understand that way of thinking. You gotta have at least one screw loose to want that job. Most bosses I hunted with in the past have had issues. OCD, Big-Head, Self-Centered, Little Man Syndrome, Workaholic, etc....
