Sorry to hear this. Did you ever find the snake?

could not have said this any better, hope baby girl gets well soon.

Shhhhh!!! Next thing you know the lib-tards will make it mandatory for all pet owners.

Any update on how she is doing after the amputation? I hope things are going better now. 3 legged dogs do as well as four legged dogs, so I wouldn't expect any issues for her down the road assuming recovery went well.

I am looking into a snake avoidance class for him now.

/\/\/\ Way cheaper than vet bills and antivenin, and far easier on your nerves as the likelihood of a bite decreases significantly.

Was on a lease with a vet and he said regardless of whether or not you get the snake vaccine, send 'em to school!!! Ruby (blackmouth cur dog of another hunter) had been to the class and even 4 years later she was still in the full avoidance mode. One night we were sitting around the fire and she started up--Jim (owner) said there's a rattler out there-she smells it. We got our lights and sure enough there was a 3-footer crawling across the parking area towards us.

Sorry I forgot to update this last year. Yes, Sophie made it. Saved the leg minus one toe. She stays away from the creek bed now.

I came back to this after seeing the post by jakeb03 and his two dogs getting bit.

That's great. She was lucky seeing as how small she is.
