I really like the .330-06 and .375H&H suggestions, but you do really need a .22 varmint gun, so I'd go with the .220 Swift.

If I go “big bore”, it will be 33 nosler or another .33 that can be built on a standard length action. Not sure what the 338-06 requires

Build it in 33 Nosler. Then just build another in 22 Nosler. Shoot, you might as well go for the entire Nosler line up. You can never have enough guns.
