I have a Nikon D5100 and it recently stopped working correctly. It still takes pictures but the screen doesn't work. It is just black. The camera hasn't been dropped nor has water gotten on it. I have checked the lens and the mirror, they seems to be working fine. I have taken the battery out for over a day and put it back in, nothing has worked so far. Has anyone had any problems like this and has anything worked to fix it? It is not under warranty anymore.

I'd find a local camera shop and talk with them.
