I had a hunt to remember yesterday morning. I had planned on getting down around 9:30 and getting a few stands hung and getting back in a tree mid day. Around 9 I had a doe ease through, she was calm and I didn't see another deer when I scanned around me. I got my camera on her and had decided to shoot her when I heard a few grunts. I looked and when I picked him up he had already made it to my tree. I got the camera on him and when he crossed the road he stuck his head in the corn at 15 yards. My arrow was on it way and I watched the pink fletchings bury in his armpit. He tore out dead on his feet and flipped at about 50 yards. I was jacked up and had FaceTimed my wife to tell her I had killed a good buck. While I was talking to her a doe slipped in from behind me, I got off the phone not really thinking it would work out but she kept coming. As the doe walked under my stand I put a Zwickey down through both lungs and she burnt out and died not 15 yards from my buck! It was an awesome morning and not one I will soon forget! My freezer is full, the buck was a solid 260# old mature deer and the doe looks big even laying beside him. Deer were killed with my Bob Lee Ultimate 64# @28" shooting GT 55/75 with 50 grain inserts and 165 grain Zwickey No Mercy broadheads. God bless and God luck the rest of the season. I wish I could post the video but photobucket won't work?
