I have had a pretty different season than normal. First me and my wife welcomed our third child into the family, my son Zackery. So I haven’t got to hunt much trying to get use to having a newborn again. It has been 7 years since our last one. Well during bow season and now rifle season I have had no luck. I decided to go sit today at one of my stands I haven’t had any luck at. At 5:19 a doe stepped out into my walking lane that I have the window closed on. This window is pretty cloudy so I could just tell it wasn’t very big. Then I see a second and they are headed toward my shooting lane. The smaller one steps out and I’m watching thru the scope for the other. Out of nowhere this guy steps out, looks toward my feeder and picks his head up( I believe he caught a whiff of my doe scent I had hanging by the feeder). He turned and heads toward where the little doe slipped into the woods. I pull the trigger and he squats low and runs. All this in less than 60 seconds. I knew I hit him and a little further back then I wanted since he was slipping into the woods. After 25mins the search is on. Less then 10 minutes later and about 25 yards in he was piled up. 15 1/4 inside and 150lbs hoof weight. The lord has truly blessed me this year. A healthy family, newborn son, great friends and then this justbto name a few things to be great full for. God bless and goodnight.
