    Food plot behind the house

Planted my fall plots on 9/15

    Enlisted some help

I had already run the disc over everything around Labor Day but I ran over it again

Mixed the oats and winter peas and added seed coat

Spread the seed, lightly disc to cover and then add turnip seed

Here is the 2nd out of 3

These are the results after 1 week

I will try and post a pic each week to show the progress

Brian, let me know how the turnups do for you, I have had no luck with them.

          Very nice looking plot!

Got any turnips coming up yet?
I planted some radishes last week and they were already up after only 5 days but the oats and peas were not up yet.

            Nice work on the plots!

How's that pull behind spreader working out for you? I'm looking to ditch the walk behind model, but can't seem to find a little pull behind that does not get crappy reviews, i.e. falls a part after one year.

I have what i think are turnips coming up but we will see. Last year my turnips did not do well at all. I mixed all of the seed together and I think they got buried deep enough they did not come up.

I will try and post a pic each week to show progression

Roscoe, I bought that spreader at a garage sale, it was in bad shape but I took it apart and got it going and it does great

Just got through planting mine. We will see how my turnips grow. Don't have a lot of confidence in them right now

                            Put fertilizer out today

Turnips are coming up and doing 100% better than last year. I think the secret was broadcasting them after all other work was done.

Roscoe from what I can tell it is a Agri Fab brand, all it has on it is a model # 45-20111. When I googled that it came back with Agri Fab.

I will take a pic tomorrow if it is not pouring rain
